Independent Living

What is Independent Living?

Our Individual Living program supports individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities living in their own apartment while receiving residential supports and services.

Clients in IL apartments receive drop-in staff support and are offered a variety of opportunities for community activities and socialization. Staff meet with each client for two to 12 hours per week to assist with daily needs, such as laundry, cleaning, cooking, shopping, and medication management. Medical support staff are available to schedule medical appointments, provide transportation, and manage regular medical needs.

IL clients have access to PPCH’s emergency on-call Program Directors and nursing staff, and are provided emergency training and emergency contact numbers.

Where in the community do individuals in IL reside?

Individuals in the IL program can live in the apartment of their choice in the Denver metro area. Apartments must be within a designated budget, and the client’s tenancy must be approved by the property owner. PPCH assists in paying and managing a client’s utility bills.
